报告题目:iSchools and Education for Data Curation
提要: The widespread growth of networked information is yielding new forms of scholarly inquiry.
Examples include high resolution 3-D imaging, immersive visualization of large multidimensional
datasets, non-Destructive recovery and reconstruction of ancient manuscripts and artifacts,
and simulation of complex physical phenomena over great expanses of space and time.
Modern techniques such as linked open data are providing heretofore unimagined opportunities
for massive interdisciplinary explorations. In this lecture, an emergent model for scholarly
communication that captures the full record of the research workflow is considered.
